It's Christmas...

I Love Christmas !
But, this year I gotta celebrate it with my beloved laptop.
Well, it might sound a bit lonely but I quite enjoy it.
Watching movies instead of counting down with my friends.
(Sigh...)

To be honest, lonely Christmas is not that awful.
Watching movies one followed by another, not bad.
But, I really can't forget last year's Christmas in Singapore.

22 December 2009, I started my journey with my friends.
Be a tour guider and brought my friends here and there.
Count down in Orchard Road.
And, that's only one word can describe is GREAT.

What I really love is celebrate it with the one you really love.
It's not necessary to be your lover but your family.
Having Barbecue with family, listening Christmas songs,
exchange Christmas presents, or maybe have some games...
Although it's not a huge party but it's warm enough.

Merry Christmas & Happy New Year,

A Letter To Daddy

Daddy,

I'm so sorry to you, but I love you.
I'm sorry because I'm being rude to you.
But I didn't mean it.
I know you do not like the way I speak, the way I respond to you.
I'm so sorry.
I also wanna change the way I treat you.
Unfortunately, I can't.
Because I have no courage to do so.
I hope you do understand me.
I promise that I'll take good care of you,
No matter how old you are,
How clumsy you are.
I'll right beside you and be the one who help you out.
I would send someone to accompany you if I'm not around.

( I wish I can have a good relationship with my dad.. Just like Simba and Mufasa.)

I wanna make lots of money and let you and your girlfriend go for vocations.
And I'm the one who foot all the bills of yours.
Buy you a brand new car.
Be a cool daddy and of course a cool boyfriend.
And you can buy lots of things without looking at the prices.

(Old Dogs, funny and touched. It's hard to be a daddy.)

At last, I'm here to beg you for forgiving me not being a good daughter.
And, I do love you.
Because you are my daddy.
Ever and forever.

Sorry, Dad.

Underestimation

I'm sure all the parents wish their children can be doctors, lawyers or the successful person.
So do my father.
Unfortunately, I'm not the one who always listen to him.
I confess that I like my way.
And, I bet you do so.
Right?

I found out that not only my father, but also my friends' parents.
Yes, we might not get a flying colour but we able to 'survive' in uni.
At least we are not terminated !

What I'm trying to say is don't underestimate your kids.
If they don't like study, then you can look into them and find out what they like.

As a parent, you should support your children.
If you found out that your kid like drawing, then why not sent them to a drawing centre.
They may have a good future if they able to master it.

I understand the purpose of parents.
What they want it just wish their kids have the ability of earning 'big' money.
Kids get flying colours, get into universities, be a doctor or lawyer.
Comparison is good, it makes us move forward.
However, comparisons are odious if there are too over.

Sometimes I feel sad when I heard my friends are being forced to study this or that.
The parents don't ever care about the willingness of their children.

Parents might said,"Is not good to be a hairdresser. You can't find your future by styling hair, bla bla bla..."
How do you know your child can't be succeed just by styling hair?
Don't just pretend you know all the things just because you are older enough.
Never be so sure that a hairdresser can't have a successful future.

Well, what I wrote is for all the parents not my dad only.
I'm lucky that my dad doesn't force me.
(Are you sure?)
Okay, once.
(Really?)
Alright, twice.
(Are you lying?)
Yes, I am.

Yes, my dad did force me.
But, I always hold my stand firm.
(only things related to my future)
I'm sure my dad is a good dad.
At least he didn't keep on forcing me when I really make my stand.
He did respect me and my decisions.

No Underestimation,
k.yan

Dreams...

Everyone does have a dream, or maybe more than one.
And there is no exception for me.

1. Buy a BMW for my dad and send my younger brother to oversea for further studies.
I don't know why it must be a BMW. Perhaps I love Mercedes Benz more than BMW. Or BMW looks cooler than Mercedes BenZ. Whatever, I just wanna buy him a BMW because I'm sick of my dad's car. I want my dad be a cool daddy. Haha...

Well for my brother, he is not good at studies but he loves to draw cartoons. So, I wanna send him to either US or Japan and study anything which related to animation. He may have a good future. I hope so.

2. Be a shopaholic
This, this, this, this and this. Okay. I want everything except this five. Oh ya, every colour each and send it to my house. OMG, I can't wait for that day. By the way, what can cure a shopaholic?

3. Do something which can benefit the world
Donate money to someone in need. Join some world's organizations and volunteer to go somewhere else like Africa. I know I can't do what Mother Teresa did but I'll try to do something to help those unfortunate people. I wish everyone can have things to eat, places to sleep. And kids can be educated. The kids have no choices to choose to be born in which kind of families but they can change their future if they are educated. Wish the world is peace.

4. My dream cafe
I wanna own a cafe with a fountain in my garden. And there are many roses around the fountain. I love roses. I'll decorate my cafe as a 18th century's building. Although it just a cafe, a big wine celler full of variety of wines will be needed in my cafe. A small form of orchestra will be waiting for you during the special occasion. Sounds good, right? Haha... I swear it will be the best place for you to relax.

 CAFFÈ GRECO, Rome

 CAFÉ NEW YORK, Budapest

5. Travel
This is my biggest dream. I wanna go to every place of this world every corner of the countries. And know more people from difference countries, races and religious. Other than that, I also would like to know their cultures. It is the best thing ever. I feel I'm just like a little boy who curious what it would be inside a treasure box.

looking into the world

At last, I wanna share a video.
It's a commercial.
I Love The World The World Is Just Awesome

Go and find your dreams,

What I Did When I Was A Kid...

I was chit chating with my friend who just sat beside me during the lecture.
" Yik Mun, yesterday I wanted to write something on my blog, but I didn't know what to write," I said. After a few minutes, that stupid fellow threw me a topic, " write something which had happend in your childhood."

(Little Marilyn...lol)
1. Michael Jackson

When I was 6, I asked my dad a stupid question.
"Daddy, is Michael Jackson a girl?"
"Nope, he is a boy."
"Then why he looks like a girl?"
My dad paused for a sec and looked at me and said " You are a girl but why you look like a boy?"
"..." I was totally speechless.

2. Middle of the road

I was curious why the adults always say the same things to me like, kids have to cross the road with an adult, don't stand at the middle of the road, it's dangerous to do that...bla bla bla...and  I was sick of those 'advise'.
For me, the dotted white line is the safest of the road.
So, I decided to have a try.
That day I was going to go to kindergarden and my dad's car parked at the opposite of my house. So, I had to cross the road. I ran to the middle of the road and squatted at the dotted white line when my dad was busy locking the door. I squatted at there for a few seconds almost a minute with a frightened heart. phew...lucky me!

3. Coffee

When I was about 6 or 7, I drank coffee. Ya, coffee not milk.
One day, my brother told me " hey, coffee is not good to kid."
"Why?"
" It can make you stupid."
" Really???"
"Ya."
" Okay, this is my last cup of coffee."
Since that, I kept the coffee away from me for about 10 years. Because of my brother. Stupid me.
Right now I have started to drink MY COFFEE, like Arabica and I wanna try the Civet coffee.

Well, I do really did a lot of stupid things in my life but lazy to share. So, that's it.
Oh ya, Happy Moon Cake Festival.
This year I'm gonna celebrate it without a moon cake, poor me...sigh...

( Here is the gift special for you. Thanks for reading my blog.)

Mid Autumn Festival hooray,

Boy or Girl, Man or Woman, Male or Female...

Can you accept a boy to be a girl, or the other way round?
Can you be accepted to be a girl although you are a boy?
Can you be accepted to be a boy although you are a girl?
Can the TRANSGENDER be accepted into the society?
All human being are born free and equal.
We do have the rights of protection, education, medication and also have the right to be happy.
If the transgender feel more comfortable to be the opposite sex and their decisions do not affect or disturb others' freedom, then why we can't just let them be?

People may think that most of the transgender involve those activities which are immoral like prostitution...
I can't say that this is the only reason why people look down the transgender.
But this is the main factor why the transgender are being treated badly.

In fact, not all the transgender are involve to the prostitution.
they may be a teacher, lecturer.
As an educator, their educate us.

They can be a singer, an actor or actress.
As an entertainer, their entertain us.

The transgender also can be very successful in their life.
They can work like a normal person or better than us.
They do give some benefits to this world like others.
The only difference is their sex.
So, why we can't just accept them as a part of us, part of the society?

Jamison Green
(Writer and Educator)
Yes, he is a transgender. He used to be a girl.
But, right now he is a man.
He also is a leader in the transgender rights movement.

(Before)

(After)
Another transman.
Balian Buschbaum was a German pole vaulter.
(OMG...He is so handsome)

Harisu, a Korean singer.
She is a transwoman and she is married.
People, please, please don't discriminate them, torture them, but treat then like the normal one.
We should help each other regardless their sex, colours, religions, et cetera...
But with your heart.
Share your love with everyone.

Don't be self-centered.
This world is not just about you.

XOXO,
k.yan
